New Kevin Flint Dog Park opens in Cairnlea

Kevin Flint Memorial Reserve in Cairnlea now boasts a new fully fenced off-leash dog park that caters for all dogs and has a range of interesting and challenging activities.

The off-leash dog park upgrades will provide a safe environment and space for exercising and socialising dogs while having fun in the park.

Some of the improvements include:

  • A large run-about space with separate areas for small, old and shy dogs
  • Natural rummaging areas
  • Sand pit and dry creek for sensory play
  • Agility equipment
  • A new shelter, seating, and drinking fountain with dog bowl
  • Double gated entries
  • Dog waste dispensers and bins
  • New pathways, signage and new landscaping with plenty of trees for shade

This new dog park is a welcome addition to Brimbank, offering another safe place for keeping our pets and their owners physically active and healthy.

This is all part of Council’s Creating Better Parks Policy and Plan to provide quality parks and open spaces for the whole community.

Residents and visitors using the dog park are reminded to abide by the rules and ensure their dogs are obedient enough to be controlled while off-leash. The rules are in place, so everyone can enjoy the park safely.

The Kevin Flint Memorial Reserve Dog Park was supported by the Victorian Government through the Local Parks Program ($275,000). Brimbank City Council contributed $200,000 to the project.

The new off-leash dog park will be open from midday on Sunday 7 November.
