The designated Neighbourhood Safer Place – Bushfire Place of Last Resort in Kilmore will relocate from the Kilmore Racecourse and Recreation Reserve to JJ Clancy Reserve in mid-September.
Neighbourhood Safer Places serve as a refuge of last resort during bushfire emergencies, intended for use only when primary bushfire safety plans have failed.
The new location at JJ Clancy Reserve is situated at the corner of Kellys Lane and Union Street, directly opposite the previous site at Kilmore Racecourse and Recreation Reserve.
A community drop-in session will be held at JJ Clancy Reserve on Monday 12 August at 6pm to provide the community with an opportunity to learn more about Neighbourhood Safer Places and to discuss the importance of bushfire planning and preparation.
