Attorney-General and Minister for Justice Yvette D’Ath has appointed a new Magistrate to our Magistrates Courts.
The Attorney said Richard Lehmann has been appointed as a Magistrate in Townsville.
“Magistrates play a vital role in the administration of justice in Queensland and I congratulate our newest judicial officer,” Mrs D’Ath said.
“Mr Lehmann has nearly three decades experience in the law and has been an Acting Magistrate since December 2011.
He started as an articled clerk in Townsville, and went on to become a solicitor and a criminal lawyer.
The new magistrate will start his role next week.
