A new men’s group ‘Just Blokes’ will hit the ground running next Friday, 31 January.
The new group encourages older men of all fitness levels to get together every second Friday for some ‘Just Blokes’ time.
Swan Hill Rural City Council’s Social Support Leader Carolyn Harrop said the new group would replace the Bulldusters group, which had been running for 15 years.
“We felt that Bulldusters had run its course, and Just Blokes has been as created to encourage new members, and new ideas,” she said.
“It’s a chance for men to gather, tell stories, have a cuppa and maybe a laugh. We’ll invite guest speakers to speak to the group throughout the year. And the group will evolve over time depending on the men’s wishes.”
The meetings will be held at the Swan Hill Senior Citizens building every second Friday, from 9.30am to 12pm.
Meetings cost $10 per person and include a light meal or morning tea. Taxis are available for pick-up if required.
