The Territory Labor Government is focused on recruiting and retaining more Policing staff.
This week a new recruit squad of 35 new constables have begun their training with NT Police.
This year, the Police frontline has been boosted, with 107 new constables and 68 new auxiliaries.
The Territory Government supports our frontline officers and this week in Parliament, NT Police will receive more powers to request the ID of any person drinking in public.
Other changes to the Police Administration Act to support police include increasing the age of retirement from 65 to 67 and allowing officers to be recruited at rank.
These changes will allow NT Police to keep and attract experienced police officers.
