New Property Council President to lead industry through exciting era

With more than 20 years’ experience in office developments and transactions, Mr Norris said he was excited by the opportunities ahead for the Queensland property sector.

“Queensland has an exciting future which is full of potential, and as the state’s largest industry, the property sector will play a significant role in delivering on that potential,” Mr Norris said.

“Being elected the Queensland President of the Property Council is an honour, and I look forward to working with my fellow Division Councillors and the broader Property Council team to build on the outstanding advocacy achieved over many years.

“While the industry continues to face many challenges, it also offers many of the solutions to Queensland’s most pressing issues – from driving economic development to delivering sustainable, affordable housing, and helping forge Queensland’s reputation as a globally recognised destination,” he said.

“I’ve been involved with the Property Council for many years, starting with the Future Directions committee. To now be elected Queensland President is humbling, and it’s wonderful to be able to give back to the industry.”

Mr Norris paid tribute to Mr Fraser’s contribution to the Property Council not only during his term as President, but for his contribution over many years.

“Luke has always been a passionate advocate and leader. During his tenure as Queensland President, he’s set the standard in representing our members and championing the interests of the industry in our state,” he said.

Property Council Queensland executive director Jess Caire congratulated Mr Norris on his election as president, saying his experience and perspective would add to the industry group’s advocacy at a crucial time for Queensland.

“A well-regarded leader, respected by his peers, Bradley has a stellar track record over many years, which has seen him contribute to the delivery of city-shaping projects across Brisbane, Adelaide, and Perth,” she said.

“With Queensland experiencing a pivotal phase of growth, Bradley is well positioned to take the helm, as we continue to drive positive change for the property sector and for Queensland as a whole.”

Ms Caire also paid tribute to the contributions made by outgoing president Luke Fraser.

“From natural disasters and lock downs to election advocacy, Luke has expertly navigated all that the last two years has offered, and always with a calm and considered approach which has helped foster positive relationships with decision-makers across Queensland. Luke’s leadership has been outstanding, and I look forward to his ongoing contribution on our Division Council.”

Speaking at the conclusion of his term as president, Mr Fraser added his congratulations to Mr Norris and reflected on his time in the top job.

“It’s been a privilege to work alongside fellow industry leaders and the Property Council team over the past two years to advance industry’s priorities.

“It was through the Property Council that I first got to know Bradley more than 20 years ago, so I know as I pass the baton on to him, he will continue to build on the great work done over many years and I wish him every success for his coming term as President,” Mr Fraser said.

Mr Norris will be joined by continuing Vice President Michelle Wooldridge from local developer Pikos, while Stockland’s Adrian Allen has been elected as the new co-Vice President.

Three new faces will also join Division Council, including Knight Frank’s Jennelle Wilson, Waterfront Brisbane’s Project Director Matt Beasley from Dexus and Shannon Willoughby representing The University of Queensland.

They replace retiring members Andrew Hay, former Queensland President, Matthew Miller and Michael Stone.

Mr Norris thanked the trio for their contribution and service to industry over many years.
