Australians will be enticed to plan and book a holiday in Tasmania, as part of a promoting Tassie as the ideal location for a road trip this spring.
Federal Tourism Minister Don Farrell congratulated Tourism Tasmania on its new spring road trips and agritourism campaign, which forms part of the Government’s Recovery for Regional Tourism program to help the industry rebound.
“Tasmania has so much to offer as a quality travel destination and spring is a wonderful time to visit,” Mr Farrell said.
“Whether it be a wine tasting experience in the Tamar Valley, feasting on famously good produce or exploring some of the most spectacular scenery, Tasmania has so many unique tourism experiences.
“I hope the campaign prompts Australians dreaming of a Tassie getaway to make a booking and get travelling.
“Latest figures from Austrade’s Tourism Research Australia show that domestic tourism is bouncing back strongly.
“There are still challenges to overcome, but we’re getting on with the job and supporting an industry that’s vital to Australia’s economic recovery.”
The spring road trips and agritourism campaign will include paid media, digital marketing and special offers with partners including airlines, Spirit of Tasmania and travel wholesalers.
The campaign will showcase the wide range of regional tourism experiences on offer in Tasmania, with a particular focus on agritourism.
The campaign, supported by a $1.2m Austrade grant, will launch on Monday, August 29 and run until mid-October.
