New research links cells commonly associated with ageing to chronic pain and headaches

Researchers at Karolinska Institutet have discovered that cells commonly associated with ageing and age-related diseases, known as senescent cells, may play a significant role in chronic pain and potentially headaches. This process has been linked to various conditions, including cancer and heart disease.

A number of experts in the field of pain research have provided a commentary on the work behind this study, which is part of an interview initiative organised by the Migraine Science Collaboration (MSC), and led by Neil Andrews.
