It is the perfect opportunity for those looking for a rewarding career in healthcare to receive financial and professional assistance across nursing and midwifery. The scholarships and cadetships are part of NSW Health’s larger mission to recruit over 5000 additional nurses and midwives over the next four years.

The new round of support includes the program which covers the cost of course fees for the Diploma of Nursing. Upon completion of the Diploma, recipients are also guaranteed a position as an enrolled nurse with NSW Health.

NSW Health Chief Nursing and Midwifery Officer, Jacqui Cross also announced important and programs available for Aboriginal people. They provide support for Aboriginal people aiming for a career in healthcare as they undertake their university study.

“Connection to culture is central to the health and well-being of Aboriginal people. It is essential that our health workforce includes Aboriginal nurses and midwives delivering culturally safe care,” Ms Cross said.
