Three new Jetstar flights from South-East Asia will bring more than 150,000 seats into Perth each year, boosting the city’s reputation as Australia’s Western Gateway.
Jetstar’s new Singapore service, which launched on 1 August, has been operating three services per week and is increasing to six weekly services from tomorrow (3 September), and will deliver over 72,000 inbound seats.
This will be followed by the launch of a new connection from Bangkok on 6 September, adding to the recently launched service between Phuket and Perth, which commenced on 6 August.
The Singapore service is proudly supported by the WA Government’s $75 million Aviation Recovery Fund.
The three new services mark the expansion of Jetstar’s WA operations, with up to 60 pilots set to be based in Perth to support the new connections with Thailand and Singapore.
Singapore is one of Western Australia’s closest international neighbours and the State’s second-largest international visitor market, with over 92,000 visitors arriving in WA from Singapore in the year ending March 2024.
The Singapore to Perth service will leverage Jetstar’s existing partnerships with carriers in Asia, providing visitors a convenient one-stop option to Perth.

As stated by Tourism Minister Rita Saffioti:
“These additional non-stop services from across South-East Asia to Perth will provide a significant boost for Western Australia’s tourism industry by driving inbound visitation and strengthening Perth’s reputation as the Western Gateway to Australia.
“We expect to see not only an increase in travellers arriving from these countries directly, but critically, more inbound traffic from markets with massive growth potential across Asia.
“Our collaboration with Jetstar underscores our commitment to growing Western Australia’s aviation sector and attracting more international visitors, providing more opportunities for travellers and supporting diversification of the WA economy.
“We also really welcome the expansion of Jetstar’s operations which is supporting up to 60 pilots and is another huge vote of confidence in the Western Gateway.”
