Premier and Minister for Trade The Honourable Annastacia Palaszczuk

A Gold Coast company that designs, manufactures and exports racing and flight simulators has been named Queensland’s Exporter of the Year.

Next Level Racing exports to 50 countries and won the major award at a glittering Premier of Queensland’s Export Awards Gala tonight.

Premier and Minister for Trade Annastacia Palaszczuk said Next Level Racing had impressed judges with their professionalism, innovation and quality of product.

“It’s companies like Next Level Racing – along with all the finalists – that show the world the incredible diversity of products and services that we export from Queensland,” the Premier said.

“The quality of finalists this year meant their win was hard earned and very deserved.”

Next Level Racing is a world leading simulation brand that is revolutionising simulation with its industry leading product range.

They supply racing simulators to Global events including: E3, Supercars eSeries, Gamescom, Project Cars 2 ANZ, Toyota Velocity, Supercars championship, Formelaustria, Endurance eRacing Championship and many more.

The quality of their simulators is such that Next Level products are also used by elite racers as a training tool to enhance their ‘on the road’ performance.

A total of 36 companies were vying for the prestigious award.

Dr Melony Sellars, Chief Executive Officer of Genics, received the award for International Women in Business chosen from female finalists. Genics provides biotech solutions for farmers, such as in prawn farms, and exports to more than 30 countries.

Toowoomba’s Mort & Co received the Regional Exporter of the Year Award for the top export company with its headquarters outside Brisbane.

The Premier said the national awards, along with all state and territory awards, were not staged in 2020 due to COVID-19.

“It’s thanks to the extraordinary efforts of Queenslanders to get tested, get vaccinated and keep each other safe, we’re able to host the Export Awards this year,” the Premier said.

“Our export businesses are a critical part of Queensland’s Economic Recovery Plan.

“They support one in five Queensland jobs, a lot of them in our regions.

“In the 12 months to August, Queensland goods exports were worth more than $62 billion, our strongest monthly result since before the pandemic began.

“I want to congratulate not only the winners of tonight’s awards, but all of our exporters who have risen to the challenges during this global pandemic.

“They’ve diversified into new markets, developed new products and strengthened relationships with customers in tough times and for that they should all be proud.”

Winners in each of the State’s 13 award categories automatically qualify as finalists in the national Australian Export & Investment Awards that are to be held on 25 November in Canberra, staged by Austrade.

The reigning Australian Exporter of the Year is Brisbane-based global design firm Populous after winning the award in 2019.
