Nillumbik Shire Council and Manningham Council have come together to offer additional storm clean-up support to all residents of North Warrandyte.
Effective immediately all residents of North Warrandyte, regardless of which Council they belong to, will be able to utilise Manningham Council’s Garden Waste Centre free of charge and several skip bins located in Manningham.
Nillumbik Mayor Cr Karen Egan said Council recognised that some parts of Nillumbik Shire had been severely affected by the storms and wanted to support residents in the clean-up.
“We are working with Manningham Council to assist our residents in the North Warrandyte area in the big task of clearing all the storm debris from our streets and properties.
“We thank Manningham Council for their support in opening up their Garden Waste Centre and skip bins to our residents. This is a great example of two councils collaborating and working together for our community.”
Manningham Mayor Cr Paul McLeish said “Extreme weather events can be very unpredictable, but what residents can be sure about is that as neighbouring councils, we can come together and, in this case, ensure our communities are strongly supported in disposing green waste as quickly as possible.
“We’re pleased to be able to open our Garden Waste Centre to all residents of North Warrandyte and to work with Nillumbik on supporting everyone impacted in our community.”
