Nine arrested after warrant executed in Noble Park

Dandenong Crime Investigation Unit detectives have arrested nine people following the execution of a warrant in Noble Park early this morning.

The warrant which was executed at an address on Corrigan Road at 5.30 this morning is part of Operation Tasma, an investigation into aggravated burglaries committed in the Noble Park area over the past six weeks.

At the address investigators arrested seven men and two women, after allegedly finding an amount of methyl amphetamine, heroin, various prohibited weapons which included samurai swords, pistol-grip crossbows and a number of double-edged knives, as well as three sawn-off shotguns.

Three men, all aged 35 years, have been charged with various offences including traffick drugs and possessing a traffickable amount of firearms and have been remanded in custody to appear at the Dandenong Magistrates’ Court on 4 September.

Greater Dandenong Crime Investigation Unit Detective Sergeant Ash Penry said that Operation Tasma specifically targeted aggravated burglaries in their area.

“Our unit is strongly committed to reducing the incidence of aggravated burglaries and apprehending the people responsible for them,” he said.

“These arrests today are a direct result of this on-going investigation which will continue with the focus of reducing offences and ensuring that people are safe in their homes.”

Two women, aged 28 and 29, and three men, aged 31,46 and 28, are expected to be charged on summons with similar offences.
