Ramsgate Seniors Centre President Mary Debono received the 2024 Noel Seiffert Award in recognition of her community volunteer work.
The Award, named after Noel Seiffert, a former Councillor who played a large role in the creation of the Ramsgate Seniors Centre, acknowledges the hard work of volunteers who accomplish so much while asking for nothing in return.
Councillor Paul Sedrak presented Mary Debono with her award and a Council Certificate of Recognition on Wednesday 14 February.
Bayside Council has four popular senior centres that run numerous health and well-being activities for Bayside’s senior residents.
Specific activities at each centre vary but may include line dancing, ballroom dancing, card games, exercise, coach trips, or educational activities.
Mayor Saravinovski said:
“I would like to thank Mary Debono for her commitment to the Ramsgate Seniors Centre and congratulate her on receiving this recognition.”
“Our senior centres are popular social hubs providing a lot of interaction and activities for our senior residents. I encourage all seniors to contact their local Seniors Centre and get actively involved.” Mayor Bill Saravinovski said.
