Do you know an active community member, organisation or business striving to enhance safety in our city? Nominations are now open for the 2019 Safer Suburbs Awards.
Deputy Mayor Donna Gates is calling on Gold Coasters to nominate an ‘everyday hero’ for the biennial awards, which recognise the valuable contribution of residents who have made a genuine effort to create a safer city for us all.
“Safe suburbs create stronger and more connected communities, so if you know an individual, community group or business who has made a difference, please take the time to nominate them for the 2019 Safer Suburbs Awards,” she said.
“Whether it’s mentoring ‘at risk’ young people, promoting road safety, supporting people who may be experiencing homelessness or volunteering for graffiti removal, like our previous winners; there are many ways to make a positive impact in the community.”
There are four award categories: individual, not-for-profit group, business and project.
Nomination forms are available at cityofgoldcoast.com.au/safersuburbsawards or pick one up from any Customer Service Centre or Library.
Nominations close on 20 September and all nominees will be acknowledged at an awards ceremony to be held on 22 October.
Let’s recognise the great work happening in our community!
