North Shore police charge Roseville man over the alleged stabbing of another man

A Roseville man will appear before court today charged with the alleged stabbing of another man overnight.

About 7pm yesterday (Monday 8 July 2024), emergency services were called to a home on Boundary Street, Roseville, following reports a man had been stabbed.

On arrival officers attached to North Shore Police Area Command were told an older man and woman had been confronted by a younger man who was allegedly waiting in the property.

During the confrontation the younger man allegedly stabbed the older man in the back before fleeing the scene.

The injured 34-year-old man drove himself to Royal North Shore Hospital for treatment before emergency services arrived.

He was treated for non-life-threatening stab wounds to his back and remains in hospital in a stable condition.

Police established a crime scene and launched an investigation into the incident.

Following inquiries, police arrested a 23-year-old man in North Manly a short time later.

As part of investigations, police also seized a knife at a different Roseville property for forensic examinations.

The 23-year-old was taken to Manly Police Station where he was charged with wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

He was refused bail to appear before Manly Local Court today (Tuesday 9 July 2024).
