Northam Detectives with the assistance of Strike Force Vulcan officers are investigating seven fires that occurred in Northam between Tuesday 15 November and Monday 21 November 2022.
Times and locations of the fires being investigated are:-
• 10.45pm on 15 November – three scrub fires reports on Fernie Street;
• 11.35pm on 15 November – a unit fire on Newcastle Road which damaged two adjoining units;
• 12.05am on 16 November – a scrub fire in bushland behind the primary school in the vicinity of Clarkson Street and Lockyer Avenue;
• 4.45pm on 16 November – a scrub fire in bushland on Davey Court; and
• 6.45am on 21 November – a scrub fire in bushland on Mitchell Avenue near Great Eastern Highway.
Detectives urge anyone with information relating to these fires, or who has mobile phone, CCTV, or dash-cam vision of the areas listed around the above times, is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000. Rewards of up to $25,000 are available for information that leads to the identification and conviction of an arsonist.
