Tourism Council WA encourages Western Australians to book activities such as tours, attractions and restaurants before arriving at their holiday destination this summer.
According to Tourism Council WA’s latest WA Travellers’ Intentions Survey, 8 per cent more Western Australians have booked a summer holiday compared with Summer 2023.
Tourism Council WA CEO Evan Hall said travellers should book their summer holiday early, book local and book now to ensure they don’t miss out.
“Western Australian holiday destinations book out quickly during peak school holiday periods. By booking your holiday activities in advance, you’re providing businesses the confidence to recruit additional staff, stock up on supplies, and offer more services to guests,” said Mr Hall.
“We would also recommend travellers consider booking directly with tourism operators or with local visitor centres. By comparison, online booking agents charge up to 30 per cent in commission, so by contacting the business or visitor centre directly, you may receive the best deals and most accurate travel advice.”
The survey of 800 Western Australians revealed 25 per cent of respondents had booked their summer holidays as of the first week of December.
