At an Ordinary Meeting of Council last night (28/04) Central Goldfields Shire Council issued a Notice of Decision to grant a planning application for a 3 lot subdivision at 370 Bucknall Street, Carisbrook.
The planning application proposes to subdivide the land at 370 Bucknall Street, which is in a Rural Living Zone and covered by numerous overlays, into three lots and remove native vegetation, which is minimal and consists mainly of grasses.
The planning application addressed Council’s concerns with an earlier application for the site, presented to Council in 2019, including fewer lots and better separation from the industrial area. The Notice of Decision was granted with a number of conditions focusing on native vegetation and engineering requirements such as vehicle access.
Central Goldfields Shire Chief Administrator Noel Harvey said the application is considered consistent with the purpose of the Rural Living Zone.
“The planning application for 370 Bucknall Street, Carisbrook, aligns well with the purpose of the Rural Living Zone.
“The application was advertised to the public and received one objection which raised concerns around road safety and the proximity of the development to existing industrial type uses on nearby land.”
