Grants of up to $500 are now available for schools, clubs, community groups and other organisations to host youth focused events in Campaspe Shire.
Councillor Tony Marwood encouraged groups to apply for a Youth Activity Grant as soon as possible.
“The Youth Activity Grants have been created thanks to the State Government Office of Youth’s Engage! funding we received earlier this year. Some fantastic programs and events are being produced from this funding pool,” Cr Marwood said.
“These grants are a timely opportunity for Campaspe’s young people, promoting youth participation, youth development and youth celebration. Following the social disconnect we experienced throughout the pandemic, events that bring our young people together have never been so important.
“With up to $500 available, Youth Activity Grants could be used for a variety of activities; movie or games nights, art exhibitions, musical performances, sporting events, even bus trips. There just needs to be a youth-led focus.
“Only six grants are available so I would encourage schools, clubs and community groups to apply as soon as possible.”
Applications must meet a range of criteria, including:
- Events must be alcohol, smoke and drug free
- Events must be accessible to all young people
- Events must be based in Campaspe Shire
- Events must be held prior to 30 November 2022
