Sutherland, NSW: The NSW Greens will tomorrow announce the nomination of local resident Cooper Riach as its candidate for Heathcote in the upcoming state election in New South Wales.
Cooper is calling for urgent action on climate change, calling for creative small-scale solutions such as community battery projects and drastically improving local active and public transport.
“There is no excuse for the NSW Liberals’ inaction on climate change,” Cooper said.
Cooper, 22, from Bundeena, said that if elected in March 2023 he will work with Greens members to focus on these bold, community-based solutions to the climate crisis.
“The best part is we already have the knowledge, the technology, and the physical means to address this crisis. We simply need the political will to act.”
Cooper will be joined by Cate Faehrmann, NSW MLC, for the launch of Cooper’s campaign on Wednesday 11 January at 11am.
