Police are appealing for witnesses and dash cam footage after a cyclist was seriously injured during a crash at Pendle Hill earlier today.
Emergency services were called to the Great Western Highway, just before 10.30am (Saturday 9 November 2019), after reports a Honda Civic hit a cyclist.
The cyclist, a 70-year-old man, was first reported to be suffering minor injuries. He was treated by paramedics and taken to Westmead Hospital, where his condition has since deteriorated, and he was found to be suffering internal injuries. He has since undergone surgery.
Officers from Cumberland Police Area Command attended and the Honda driver, a 21-year-old man, was spoken to.
Police have been told, the blue Honda Civic was travelling behind a Nissan Tiida on the Great Western Highway when it swerved to avoid a collision, hitting the cyclist.
As inquiries continue, police are appealing for any motorists who were in the area at the time and may have information or dash cam vision of the incident to come forward and contact police or Crime Stoppers.
