Police remain at the scene of a fatal two-vehicle crash in Sydney’s north west.
Officers from Hawksbury Police Area Command attended Richmond Road, near Llandilo Road, at Berkshire Park just after 1.15am (Sunday 28 April 2019), after reports of a head-on crash.
Three women were freed from one vehicle. Police and witnesses performed CPR on the female driver until the arrival of paramedics; however, the woman could not be revived and died at the scene.
Two female passengers have been taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Two men were freed from the second vehicle – with one airlifted to Westmead Hospital in a serious but stable condition and the second taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
A crime scene has been established and will be forensically examined.
The road remains closed with local traffic diversions in place. Motorists are advised to avoid the area.
Whilst police were at the scene, a Toyota was stopped after attempting to make a right hand turn into the crime scene. The driver, a 22-year-old woman, was subjected to a road side breath test, returning a positive result.
She was arrested and taken to Windsor Police Station, where she returned an alleged reading of 0.070.
The Carnes Hill woman was charged with drive with low range PCA and drive while licence suspended. She will appear at Windsor Local Court at a later date.
