NSW police arrest four after home invasion and kidnapping in Sydney’s west

Robbery and Serious Crime Squad detectives have arrested four men following an investigation into an alleged home invasion and kidnapping in Sydney’s west and northwest earlier this year.

About 9.20pm on Monday 26 September 2022, two men allegedly forced entry to the second-storey bedroom of a home in Caddens, where they threatened a 29-year-old man with a handgun.

The man was able to free himself before he ran from the property and the two men left in a grey hatchback with another two men.

Local police initiated inquiries, before the matter was referred to detectives from the State Crime Command’s Robbery and Serious Crime Squad under Strike Force Ghinni.

As part of ongoing inquiries, detectives also commenced an investigation into the kidnapping of a man last month.

Police have been told about 1.20pm on Wednesday 12 October, the man was approached by four males – one of which was armed with a handgun – in a carpark on Morrison Road, Ryde. He was assaulted and taken in a vehicle to an unknown location, where he was threatened and assaulted further.

The man has since recovered from his injuries.

Following further inquiries, strike force detectives – assisted by the Tactical Operations Unit, the Public Order and Riot Squad, Raptor Squad and Operational Support Group – executed 11 search warrants in Revesby, Lidcombe, Strathfield, Girraween, Villawood, Botany, North Ryde, and ³Ô¹ÏÍøÕ¾bush, from 6am today (Wednesday 16 November 2022).

Four men – aged 32, 31, 29, and a 17-year-old boy – were arrested at homes in Revesby, Lidcombe and Strathfield.

They have all been taken to Bankstown and Burwood Police Stations, where they are expected to be charged later today.

Investigations under Strike Force Ghinni are continuing.
