A man has been arrested following a two-vehicle crash in Sydney’s south-west today.
About 3pm (Monday 7 November 2022), officers from Traffic and Highway Patrol Command were patrolling Alfred Point Road, Sutherland, when they detected a Honda Accord sedan allegedly speeding.
When the vehicle failed to stop, a police pursuit was initiated.
A short time later, the Honda crashed into a concrete barrier, traffic light, and another vehicle – a Volkswagen Tiguan SUV – on the off-ramp at Davies Road, near Clancy Street, at Padstow Heights.
The driver of the Honda, a 22-year-old man, was arrested at the scene and taken to Sutherland Police Station.
His passenger, a man believed to be aged in his 20s, was taken to Bankstown Hospital in a stable condition.
The driver of the Volkswagen, a man believed to be aged in his 30s, was also taken to Liverpool Hospital with minor injuries.
Officers from Bankstown Police Area Command have established a crime scene and investigations are underway into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
