A man and woman wanted on warrants have been arrested after a barricade situation in Bonnyrigg.
About 10am (Tuesday 23 July 2019), officers from Fairfield City Police Area Command attended a home in Joiner Place, to arrest a 33-year-old man, wanted on a revocation of parole warrant, and a 31-year-old woman, wanted on an arrest warrant.
The pair refused to surrender to police and an operation ensued, in which specialist resources were deployed.
About 3pm, the man and woman were taken into custody without incident.
They have been taken to Fairfield Police Station.
No weapons have been recovered. A search of the premises is ongoing by police.
The woman was charged with the warrant and is expected to appear at Fairfield Local Court tomorrow (Wednesday 24 July 2019).
The man’s revocation of parole warrant was executed and he will be returned to the custody of Corrective Services.
