NSW police arrest two after strike force drug investigation at Deniliquin

Two men have been arrested following an investigation into the supply of illicit drugs in the state’s south west.

In July 2020, Strike Force Collett was established by detectives from Murray River Police District to investigate the supply of prohibited drugs, namely methamphetamine, in the Deniliquin area.

Following an extensive investigation, strike force investigators, with the assistance of the South East Region Enforcement Squad and Dog Unit, arrested a 25-year-old man at a home in Deniliquin, about 7.30am today (Wednesday 21 October 2020).

A short time later, a 29-year-old man was arrested at a second home in Deniliquin.

The pair were taken to Deniliquin Police Station, where charges are expected to be laid.

Search warrants were executed at the homes of the two men, a storage container and a third home in Deniliquin. Officers located prohibited drugs, cash, weapons, electronic devices and ammunition.

These items have been seized and will undergo forensic examination.

Investigations are continuing.
