NSW police charge another three with drug supply in Tamworth area

A further three people have been arrested and charged as Strike Force Heyward continues to target drug supply in the Tamworth area.

Investigators from Oxley Police District Target Action Group, with assistance from the Western Region Enforcement Squad, initiated Strike Force Heyward in July 2019 to investigate the supply of MDMA and cocaine in licensed premises in Tamworth.

So far, police have charged six men and a teenage boy with a string of drug related offences that are now before the court.

On Wednesday 9 December 2019, an 18-year-old man was charged with supply prohibited drug – indictable quantity (x3) and conspiracy to supply prohibited drug. He was granted conditional bail to appear at Armidale Local Court on Thursday 9 January 2020.

The following day (Thursday 12 December 2019) an 18-year-old woman was charged with supply prohibited drug – commercial quantity, supply prohibited drug- more than indictable quantity (x7), supply drugs on an ongoing basis and participate criminal group contribute criminal activity.

She was refused bail and appeared in Tamworth Local Court on Friday (13 December 2019). She was refused bail and remanded in custody to reappear at Tamworth Local Court on Wednesday 26 February 2020.

On Friday (13 December 2019), police arrested and charged a 21-year-old woman. She was charged with supply prohibited drug, and participate criminal group contribute criminal activity.

The woman was granted conditional bail to appear at Tamworth Local Court on Monday 13 January 2020.

Investigations into the supply of illicit drugs in the Tamworth area are continuing
