A man will face court today, charged after police allegedly located 20litres of gamma-hydroxybutyrate (GHB) and weapons during a search in the state’s Murray River region yesterday.
About 9.45am (Wednesday 27 July 2022), officers attached to Murray River Police District’s Proactive Crime Team and Domestic Violence Action Team attended a home on Myotis Street, Thurgoona, for an unrelated matter.
A 44-year-old man present at the home was arrested for allegedly breaching his ADVO conditions.
During subsequent inquiries, police located an imitation hand grenade, throwing knives and 23 boxes of cosmetic products allegedly containing 20 litres of the drug GHB. A crime scene was established, and all items were seized and will undergo forensic examination.
The man was taken to Albury Police Station where he was charged with one count each of supply prohibited drug large commercial quantity – serious indictable offence, possess or use a prohibited weapon without permit, and contravene prohibition/restriction in AVO (Domestic).
The Albury man was refused bail to appear in Albury Local Court today (Thursday 28 July 2022).
