NSW police charge man after aggravated break and enter

A man has been charged over an alleged aggravated break and enter in the state’s Central West last week.

About 1.15am on Friday (12 June 2020), a man and woman entered a property on Yarrawonga Road, Yarrawonga, about 30km north of Mudgee.

It’s alleged the pair threatened the owners, a 37-year-old man and a 35-year-old woman, before forcing entry to a shed on the property.

When the 35-year-old woman confronted the pair, it’s alleged she was struck in the head multiple times with an unknown object.

The intruders fled empty-handed and police were alerted.

Officers attached to Orana Mid-Western Police District were contacted and commenced an investigation.

NSW Ambulance paramedics attended and treated the 35-year-old woman for minor injuries.

Following inquiries, officers arrested a 32-year-old man at Gulgong Police Station on Friday (12 June 2020) before he was taken to Mudgee Police Station.

He was charged with aggravated break and enter dwelling in company intend steal, remain in building/land with intent commit indictable offence, two counts of stalk/intimidate intend fear physical harm, enter inclosed land not prescribed premises without lawful excuse, use offensive weapon with intent to commit indictable offence, and armed with intent commit indictable offence.

He appeared at Dubbo Local Court on Saturday (13 June 2020) where he was bail refused to reappear today (Monday 15 June 2020).

Inquiries are continuing.
