Police have charged a man after he was twice caught allegedly drink driving with a toddler in the car in Sydney’s east and inner-west last night.
Just before 7.40pm (Thursday 30 December 2021), officers from Eastern Suburbs Police Area Command stopped the driver of a Mazda CX-9 at a stationary Random Breath Test (RBT) site on Oxford Street, Woollahra.
The driver, a 37-year-old man, was accompanied by two passengers, a woman and a 20-month-old boy.
The man underwent a roadside breath test and allegedly returned a positive result. He was taken to Waverley Police Station, where he allegedly returned a secondary breath analysis reading of 0.108.
His licence was confiscated and he was issued a Future Court Attendance Notice to appear at Waverley Local Court on Tuesday 18 January 2021 for the offences of drive with middle range PCA and drive motor vehicle while licence suspended.
Just after 9.40pm, officers from Inner West Police Area Command stopped the same Mazda CX-9 driver, accompanied by the woman and boy, at a stationary RBT on Parramatta Road in Camperdown.
He allegedly returned a positive roadside breath test before being taken to Newtown Police Station, where he underwent a secondary breath analysis, returning an alleged reading of 0.083.
The man was again charged with drive with middle range PCA and drive motor vehicle while licence suspended.
He was granted strict conditional bail and is due to appear before Newtown Local Court on Monday 24 January 2022.
