NSW police charge man after search warrant at Orange

A man will face court today after police executed a search warrant in the state’s Central West.

Following an investigation by officers attached to Central West Police District, a search warrant was executed at a home on Bathurst Street, Orange about 11.35am on Friday (6 March 2020),

During the search, officers allegedly located and seized four railway detonator’s and ammunition.

About 12.06pm, police were patrolling the Orange area when they attempted to stop a Nissan Maxima on Lone Pine Avenue.

The driver of the vehicle failed to stop and police followed the vehicle.

The Nissan drove to the home on Bathurst Street, where officers were executing the search warrant, and the driver, a 32-year-old man was arrested.

He was taken to Orange Police Station and charged with police pursuit – not stop – drive dangerously, drive motor vehicle during disqualification period, two counts of possess prohibited drug, possess, supply or make explosive for unlawful purpose and two counts of possess ammunition without holding licence/permit.

The man was refused bail to appear at Orange Local Court today (Monday 9 March 2020).
