NSW police charge man after woman threatened with knife at Orange

A man has been charged after allegedly threatening a woman with a knife in the state’s Central West overnight.

It is alleged the man, aged 21, contacted the victim via phone yesterday (Tuesday 23 July 2019), making a number of threats.

Police will allege the man –armed with a hunting knife – then arrived at the woman’s home about 9.40pm, and attempted to force his way inside, kicking, then stabbing, the front door.

The man left the scene shortly before officers attached to Central West Police District arrived.

Following inquiries, police arrested the man at a Bathurst Road home about 10.30am today (Wednesday 24 July 2019).

He was taken to Orange Police Station and charged with destroy or damage property, stalk/ intimidate intend fear physical harm, armed with intent commit indictable offence, and custody of knife in public place.

The man was bail refused to appear before Orange Local Court today (Wednesday 24 July 2019).
