A man has been charged after an elderly woman was assaulted during an aggravated break and enter in the state’s Central Tablelands region earlier this year.
About 12.45pm Monday 3 June 2019, the woman returned home to her flat in Kandos when it is alleged an unknown person approached her from behind and placed a shirt over her head.
It is alleged the person fled from the home after the woman yelled for help.
Officers attached to Orana Mid Western Police District attended immediately and established a crime scene.
Following extensive inquiries, police arrested a 61-year-old man at a Rodger Street home about 9.30am yesterday (Monday 16 September 2019).
He was taken to Mudgee Police Station and charged with aggravated break, enter and commit serious indictable offence.
He was granted conditional bail to appear before Mudgee Local Court Wednesday 9 October 2019.
