A man has been charged over an alleged assault in the state’s south last week.
About 9.30pm on Friday 4 November 2022, officers attached to Murray River Police District were called to a licensed premises on David and Guinea Streets, Albury, following reports of an altercation.
Police have been told two men – not known to each other – became involved in a verbal argument, when one of the men threw a glass at the second man, before punching him in the face and fleeing.
The injured man – aged 46 – suffering facial swelling and bruising but did not require medical treatment.
Following inquiries, investigators arrested a 26-year-old man seen walking on Atkin Street, just after 11.30pm last night.
He was taken to Albury Police Station and charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
The Lavington man was granted strict conditional bail to appear at Albury Local Court on Wednesday 30 November 2022.
