A man has been charged over the alleged serious assault of another man in Culburra.
About 2.40pm today (Tuesday 21 July 2020), a man entered a butchery on Prince Edward Street and assaulted the owner with a large piece of wood.
He then allegedly used a meat hook to strike the 66-year-old owner across the face, causing serious injuries.
Members of the public intervened and emergency services were contacted.
The injured man was taken to Shoalhaven Hospital for treatment.
Officers from South Coast Police District attended and established a crime scene.
A short time later a 44-year-old man was arrested at his nearby business and taken to Nowra Police Station.
Police will allege the man assaulted the butchery owner following an ongoing parking dispute.
He was charged with wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
The man was granted conditional bail to appear before Nowra Local Court on Friday 24 July 2020.
