A man will face court today charged as investigations continue into an alleged stabbing during an affray in Sydney’s south west overnight, which saw two men hospitalised.
Just after midnight (Saturday 22 August 2020), emergency services were called to Canley Vale Road near Derby Street, Canley Heights, after reports of an assault.
Police have been told two groups of men were involved in an affray, during which two men were allegedly stabbed. The group fled the scene prior to police arrival.
A 19-year-old man was treated by paramedics for multiple stab wounds, and a second man, aged 18, suffered bruising and a laceration.
Both were taken to Liverpool Hospital where they remain in stable conditions, receiving treatment.
Detectives from Fairfield City Police Area Command commenced an investigation and following inquiries, a 23-year-old man was arrested at a home on Ferngrove Road, Canley Heights, about 1.30am.
He was taken to Fairfield Police Station and charged with two counts of wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, affray, and owner not disclose identity of driver/passenger.
The man was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Bail Court today (Saturday 22 August 2020).
