A man has been charged with multiple drug supply and manufacture offences following an investigation in the states north-east.
In December last year, officers attached to Oxley Police District’s Proactive Crime Team commenced an investigation into the manufacture and supply of prohibited drugs in the local area.
Following extensive inquiries, investigators executed a search warrant at a home on Lemon Gums Drive, Oxley Vale, about 9.50am on Friday 28 January 2022.
The occupant of the home – a 41-year-old man – was arrested and taken to Tamworth Police Station.
During a search of the property, police located a dimethyltryptamine (DMT) laboratory, a number of large cacti cuttings, cannabis plants, and items consistent with the manufacture and supply of prohibited drugs.
The property was examined and rendered safe with the assistance of Fire & Rescue NSW HAZMAT; specialist officers from the Drug and Firearms Squad’s Chemical Operations Team examined and dismantled the laboratory.
All items and substances seized during the operation will undergo further forensic examination.
The man was charged with two counts of supply prohibited drug, cultivate prohibited plant, possess prohibited plant, and manufacture prohibited drug.
The Oxley Vale man was refused bail and appeared before Tamworth Bail Court yesterday (Saturday 29 January 2022), where he was granted conditional bail, to appear before the same court tomorrow (Monday 31 January 2022).
