A man has been charged with a range of firearm and weapons offences.
About 2pm yesterday (Wednesday 19 June 2019), a 37-year-old man attended Albury Police Station in relation to a Victorian Police matter and was arrested.
While the man was in custody, officers attached to Murray River Police District, located a storage container used by the man and removed a backpack containing six prohibited firearms, a purpose-made cattle prod and a homemade electronic stun device.
The man was charged with one count of manufacturing a prohibited weapon, two counts of possessing a prohibited weapon, six counts of possessing a prohibited firearm and one count of possessing unauthorised ammunition.
He was refused bail to appear at Albury Local Court today (Thursday 20 June 2019).
