A man has been charged after crashing his car while allegedly driving with a high-range blood alcohol level in Bass Hill last night.
About 8.20pm (Monday 8 July 2019), a 51-year-old man was driving his Ford Falcon on Thornton Street, Bass Hill, when he allegedly lost control and smashed into a Toyota Corolla that was parked and unoccupied, then hit a power pole.
Emergency services arrived on scene and officers from Bankstown Police Area Command submitted the driver, who was not injured, to a roadside breath test that allegedly provided a positive result.
He was arrested and taken to Bankstown Police Station where he submitted a breath analysis reading of 0.163 (high range).
He was charged with high range drink driving and his licence was suspended.
He is due to appear in Bankstown Local Court on Wednesday 24 July 2019.
