NSW police charge man with three break and enter offences at Wentworth

A man has been charged in relation to multiple break and enter offences alleged to have occurred in the state’s far south west between July and September 2019.

Officers attached to Barrier Police District commenced an investigation into a string of offences in August following the break-in and theft of items from four houses and one houseboat in Wentworth.

It is alleged numerous items including power tools, fishing equipment and jewellery were stolen during the break-ins.

About 8am Tuesday (3 September 2019), officers arrested a 29-year-old man at a home on Adams Street, Wentworth in relation to the investigation.

He was charged with one break and enter offence and was granted conditional bail from the Wentworth Local Court later that day.

Following inquiries into the reported break and enter offences, police executed a search warrant at the Adams Street home about 1.30pm Wednesday (4 September 2019).

It is alleged numerous tools and other items suspected of being stolen or unlawfully obtained were seized.

The man was arrested and taken to Dareton Police Station where he was charged with a further two break and enter offences.

He attended Wentworth Local Court yesterday (Thursday 5 September 2019) and was remanded in custody to appear again on Tuesday 8 October 2019.
