Three people have been charged following an investigation into the supply of illicit drugs in Sydney’s Inner West.
Investigators attached to Burwood Police Area Command’s Trident Team established Strike Force Vittasalo to investigate the supply of prohibited drugs in the local area.
Following extensive investigations, strike force detectives executed two search warrants at two units at Burwood and a third search warrant on a vehicle at Clarence Street, Burwood, about 4.30pm yesterday (Wednesday 17 November 2021).
During the searches, detectives located and seized prohibited drugs, cash, electronic devices and items consistent with the supply of prohibited drugs.
A loaded firearm, electronic devices and cash were located inside the vehicle.
During the operation, a 38-year-old woman and 40-year-old man were arrested and taken to Burwood Police Station.
The woman was charged with 11 offences including three counts of supply prohibited drugs on an ongoing basis, six counts of drive motor vehicle during disqualification period and deal with property proceeds of crime.
The man was charged with possess unregistered firearm (pistol) and possess unauthorised pistol.
The pair were both refused bail and are due to appear at Burwood Local Court today (Thursday 18 November 2021).
As part of ongoing investigations, strike force detectives executed a search warrant at a third unit at Burwood about 11.20pm yesterday (Wednesday 17 November 2021).
During the search, detectives seized further mobile phones, electronic items, and substances believed to be prohibited drugs.
All items seized during the operation will undergo further examination.
A 38-year-old woman was arrested and taken to Burwood Police Station, where she was charged with two counts of supply prohibited drugs on an ongoing basis, two counts of drive motor vehicle during disqualification period and two counts of steal property in dwelling-house.
She was also refused bail to appear at Burwood Local Court today (Thursday 18 November 2021).
Investigations under Strike Force Vittasalo are continuing.
