NSW police charge three men over aggravated break-in’s and car theft at Bathurst

Three men have been charged following two aggravated break-in’s and vehicle thefts in Bathurst earlier this week.

The first incident occurred about 5.15pm (Monday 15 June 2020), when a man entered a property on Tyndall Street, Kelso.

It’s alleged the offender assaulted an occupant of the home before stealing keys to a Mitsubishi Lancer parked outside.

Police attended and were told three men were seen leaving the scene in the Lancer.

The stolen car was observed, and a pursuit commenced that was terminated shortly after for safety reasons.

The second incident occurred about 8.45pm when the stolen Lancer allegedly rammed a car on Rankin Street, Bathurst.

Officers again sighted the vehicle and a short pursuit commenced.

It was later found dumped in Ribbon Gum Place, near Stack Street, Windradyne, about 10pm.

The third incident occurred about 10.40pm, when a man allegedly took keys from a property at Billman Place, Windradyne, and stole a white Toyota Corolla parked outside.

Following inquiries, three men were arrested – aged 18, 23 and 24 about 4.30pm on Tuesday 18 June 2020 and taken to Bathurst Police Station.

All three men were charged with aggravated break and enter and commit serious indictable offence-use violence, dishonestly obtain property by deception and passenger not disclose driver’s/other passenger’s identity.

The 18-year-old man was given conditional bail to appear at Bathurst Local Court on Monday 17 August 2020.

The 23 and 24-year-old men were both refused bail to appear at Bathurst Local Court on Monday 17 August 2020.
