Three men will face court today whilst police continue to search for a fourth following an alleged aggravated break-in and attempted kidnapping in Sydney’s south-west overnight.
Just before 10pm (Monday 2 December 2019), a 15-year-old boy returned to his home on West Hill Road, Green Valley, when a Toyota HiAce van pulled up at the front and three men ran towards the front door.
The boy and a 38-year-old woman ran and barricaded themselves inside as the men allegedly attempted to force entry.
The men pulled the security screen door off and attempted to kick the front door in. Their attempts were unsuccessful, and the men fled with the broken security door.
Officers from Liverpool City Police Area Command attended and established a crime scene.
A Toyota HiAce van was seen travelling on Macquarie Street and was followed by police responding.
Following a short pursuit through nearby streets, the van stopped on Graham Avenue and an occupant ran off.
The single unit officer, an acting inspector, arrested the other three occupants, the driver, a 24-year-old man, and two passengers, aged 23 and 27. They were all taken to Liverpool Police Station.
Police will allege gloves, cable ties and duct tape were located during a search of the van.
The 24-year-old Prestons man were charged with aggravated enter dwelling with intent – knowing people there, and take/detain person in company with intent to obtain advantage, police pursuit – not stop – drive dangerously, and drive recklessly/furiously or speed/manner dangerous-
The 27-year-old Victorian man and the 23-year-old Prestons man were charged with aggravated enter dwelling with intent – knowing people there and take/detain person in company with intent to obtain advantage.
They were all refused bail to appear at Liverpool Local Court today (Tuesday 3 December 2019).
