Three boys will appear in court today over an attempted robbery in Orange overnight.
Shortly before 10pm (Wednesday 9 October 2019), three boys entered a food outlet on Summer Street, Orange, threatening two employees demanding cash.
Police were told a struggle ensued during which the female employee was allegedly punched to the face.
The trio fled the scene empty-handed.
Officers from Central West Police District attended and commenced investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
About 10.30pm yesterday (Wednesday 9 October 2019), police arrested three boys aged 12, 16 and 17 on Bathurst Road, Orange.
They were taken to Orange Police Station where they were charged.
The 12-year-old boy from Clifton Grove and the 16-year-old teenage boy from Orange were charged with assault with intent to rob in company, destroy/damage property, and breach of bail.
The 17-year-old teenage boy from Orange was charged with assault with intent to rob in company and destroy/damage property.
They were refused bail to appear at a children’s court today (Thursday 10 October 2019).
