Three teenagers have been charged with more than 40 offences following an investigation into multiple offences in the state’s far west last month.
Between 12.15am on Sunday 12 September 2021 and 4.30am on Tuesday 14 September 2021, a number of vehicle thefts and aggravated break and enters were reported in the Gol Gol, Buronga, Coomealla, Curlwa and Wentworth areas.
Officers attached to Barrier Police District were notified of the incidents, including a ram-raid at a firearms dealer just after 6am on Sunday 12 September 2021.
Police were told that 20 firearms were allegedly stolen along with cash, a television, parcels, dirt bikes and tools.
Following extensive inquiries, police attended a home at Mildura on Saturday 9 October 2021 and issued a 14-year-old boy with a Court Attendance Notice (CAN) for 14 property related offences. The boy is due to appear at a children’s court on Friday 10 December 2021.
As part of ongoing inquiries, officers arrested a 14-year-old boy at a home in Coomealla about 8am on Friday (22 October 2021). He was taken to Dareton Police Station and charged with 13 property related offences. The boy was granted conditional bail to appear at a children’s court on Friday 5 November 2021.
Following further investigations, officers arrested a 16-year-old boy at a home in Coomealla about 10.20am yesterday (Wednesday 17 October 2021). He was taken to Dareton Police Station and charged with 13 property related offences. He was refused bail to appear at a children’s court on Thursday 4 November 2021.
