NSW police charge two after breaking into a storage container at a football club

Two men will face court today charged after allegedly breaking into a storage facility at a sports club overnight.

About 2am today (Monday 9 November 2020), officers attached to the Mt Druitt Police Area Command responded to reports of a break-in at a football club at Rooty Hill.

Upon arrival, police located two men wearing balaclavas, who had allegedly accessed a storage container on site, which was filled with the club’s branded clothing.

Officers also located a vehicle nearby, which had the registration plates covered.

Both men – aged 22 and 24 – were arrested and taken to Mt Druitt Police Station.

The 24-year-old was charged with aggravated break and enter commit indictable offence and obscure registration plates.

The 22-year-old man was charged with aggravated break and enter commit indictable offence, possess counterfeit currency, and possess prohibited drug.

Police will allege in court that the younger man was in possession of cannabis and a counterfeit $100 note.

Both men have been refused bail to appear at Mt Druitt Local Court today (Monday 9 November 2020).
