NSW police charge two after drugs, cash seized in Sydney’s south west

Two men have been charged with drugs and weapons offences after a vehicle stop sparked search warrants at Canley Vale, Wetherill Park, and Fairfield West.

About 8pm on Friday 10 May 2019, officers from Police Transport Command stopped a Toyota Yaris in Canley Vale.

Officers spoke to the driver, a 41-year-old man, and during a subsequent search of the vehicle, officers located a full-face respirator, methamphetamine and cash.

A second man approached officers and during a subsequent search of his Nissan Cube, officers seizing methamphetamine, MDMA, cocaine, laser pointers, a flick knife, and 9kg of caustic soda.

The 34-year-old man was also searched, with officers allegedly locating cash and a credit card knife.

Both men were arrested and taken to Fairfield Police Station.

Following further inquiries, officers executed search warrants at a storage facility at Wetherill Park and a home on Palmerston Road, Fairfield West yesterday (Saturday 11 May 2019).

Chemicals were seized at the storage facility and will be forensically examined.

At the home, officers seized three tasers, two firearms, ammunition, a baton, methyl-amphetamine, MDMA, GBL, heroin, cannabis, suboxone strips, and other prescribed medications.

The older man was charged with supply an indictable quantity of a prohibited drug, and deal with proceeds of crime

He appeared at Parramatta Bail Court yesterday (Saturday 11 May 2019) and was granted conditional bail to appear at Fairfield Local Court on Monday 20 May 2019.

The younger man was charged with two counts of supply an indictable quantity of a prohibited drug, deal with property proceeds of crime, two counts of possess prohibited weapon, and possess prohibited drug.

He appeared at Parramatta Bail Court yesterday (Saturday 11 May 2019) and was refused bail to appear at Fairfield Local Court on Wednesday 15 May 2019.
