Two males will appear in court today charged over their alleged roles in the stabbing of three teenagers at a party in Sydney’s west.
About 10.45pm on Saturday 3 August 2019, a group of uninvited male guests attended a party at a home in Northmead.
Police will allege the males assaulted and stabbed a 17-year-old boy in the back before assaulting and stabbing a 19-year-old man in the shoulder and back. Another man, aged 19, came to his defence before the males allegedly slashed his hand open with the knife.
All three teenagers were taken to Westmead Hospital in a stable condition, with one requiring surgery and another suffering fractured ribs.
Detectives from Parramatta Police Area Command established Strike force Bogota to investigate the incident.
Following extensive inquiries, investigators executed two search warrants at homes in Acacia Gardens and Blacktown yesterday (Thursday 10 October 2019), arresting a 20-year-old man and a 17-year-old boy.
The pair were taken to Blacktown Police Station and each charged with three counts of wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
The 20-year-old Acacia Gardens man was refused bail to appear at Blacktown Local Court today (Friday 11 October 2019).
The 17-year-old Blacktown boy was refused bail to appear at children’s court today (Friday 11 October 2019).
Strike Force Imbara was established in July, formed by officers attached to South West Metropolitan Region and North West Metropolitan Region, to investigate anti-social and violent behaviour of local street-level criminal networks.
Investigators are currently conducting inquiries into a number of assaults and other public acts of violence, which are believed to linked. Further arrests are expected to be made over a number of related ongoing investigations.
