Two men have been charged following an alleged aggravated robbery in Tamworth earlier this year.
Police will allege two men – aged 32 and 44 – left a fast-food restaurant and were walking along Goonoo Goonoo Road about 11pm on Thursday 30 June 2022, when they were approached by a number of men near the intersection of Greg Norman Drive.
The two men were allegedly assaulted and their wallets taken.
The injured men were treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics and taken to Tamworth Hospital to be treated for serious injuries.
Officers from Oxley Police District were notified and attended, establishing a crime scene which was forensically examined.
Strike Force Coughlin was established by Tamworth detectives to investigate the incident.
About 11am yesterday (Thursday 27 October 2022), police executed a search warrant at a home on Hall Street, East Tamworth.
Officers seized a mobile phone which is alleged to have been stolen. Drugs were also located and seized.
A 32-year-old man was arrested and taken to Tamworth Police Station. He was charged with two counts of aggravated robbery, and inflict actual bodily harm.
About 2pm, a second search warrant was executed at a home on Kuloomba Street, Hillvue.
Officers seized another mobile phone and clothing, also alleged to have been stolen.

Both men have been conditionally bailed to appear before Tamworth Local Court on Monday 21 November 2022.
